Daphne Roms Names / Space Ace and Dragon's Lair 2

I searched all over the forums for an answer but couldnt find one... (BTW im running the latest version of Daphne)

i set up daphne successfully by using some tutorial on the site that shows how to set up Dragon's Lair

in his instructions he said

14. Under Game 1 Rom type: dle21 which i believe plays all new scenes.

tutorial works fine....dragon's lair is all good.

i tried to apply the same logic he gives for my other 2 daphne games, Daragon's lair 2 and Space Ace.

I'm not sure what to type in "Game Rom" for Dragon's Lair 2 and Space Ace.....i tried a few different ones that i saw in my daphne rom folder like lair2 and ace91 but neither of those worked.

They run fine outside of GameEx.

Can someone tell what i use for those 2 rom names pls?

Ahh... Well Do Dragons Lair II Timewarp, and Space Ace work using daphne loader? Daphne loader will tell you the command line its using when launching the game. Use that info to configure gameex.

Also you will notice using daphne loader some games have a few revisions... Its thos revisions that are tied to the seprate roms. Perhaps your missing the parent roms. Im not sure. But if it works in daphne loader again you can take the command and get it going in gamex.

well i got space ace to work....

but no luck with Dragons Lair 2.

Dragons Lair 2 has a bunch of different roms.....it works fine outside of game ex though....i woulda thought lair2 would work for sure but it doesnt

Im pretty sure I use lair2.. Mine works fine.

Just display the command line settings in Daphne Loader to see what exactly is needed to run that game.

1. Click Game

2. Click Configure DAPHNE options

3. Click on the Advanced tab

4. Enable Display command line

Now run your game and use that info in GameEx!

hi yes thats exactly what i did.....

that is the command line i got from daphne to put into gameex

doesnt work...like i said it works perfectly fine outside gameex....thats whats weird. and space ace and dragons lair run fine

I don't mean to post in an older thread. But I'm having a similar problem. When trying to load Astronbelt and Thayer's Quest I get the following error (In Daphne log)

I'm going to say that it's because you have spaces in the path. The reason I say that, is because the log seems to think that you are using command line parameters called "Quest\Thayers", and "Quest.txt"

Commandlines generally look like: program.exe parameter1 parameter2

So with the spaces, Dos thinks you are sending parameters on your command line.

Either enclose the path with qoutes:

-framefile "C:\Emulators\Daphne\Mpeg\Thayer's Quest\Thayer's Quest.txt"

Or change the path name:

-framefile C:\Emulators\Daphne\Mpeg\Thayer'sQuest\Thayer'sQuest.txt

Of course, if Cobra Command is working, then I'm totally wrong!

Hey Tempest thanks for your help! The one with the quotes worked! It's kind of strange that Dragon's Lair 1 and 2 without quotes will work but not Thayer's Quest I also tried it with Astron Belt as well and worked as well thanks again. I feel like I'm becoming a pest with my problems lol

You don't have any spaces in your path with Dlair, so it will work without quotes...I'm suprised Cobra Command works...
