GameEx theme Editor Problems / Not working at all

For some really odd reason my GameEx theme Editor doesn't seem to do anything at all....likes it totally broken

When i start it up and try to choose a template nothing happens at all....like I didn't even click on it.

or

if i go file > open >themes i get this error message

this is old version theme. you can only open V2 themes

or

if i go >edit video nothing happens at all either no menu or list to choose from....nothing

its like the whole thing is busted.

did i miss something?

lol u always figure it out right after u post....

it was a weird fix.....by default the theme editor points to the MS Paint .exe

for some reason that did nothing for me at all.......like the editor was broken

when i re-pointed it to my adobe photoshop .exe it fixed everything......well at least it seems to work know i mean

ok spoke too soon......same exact problem as i originally posted........

when i closed the editor to come to the forum to post that i fixed it i went back and relaunched the editor and now its doing the same thing again.....UGH

anyone have this problem with the editor before? like it just doesnt work?

ok im an idiot....sry.

i didnt recognize that not all the themes that come with GameEX by default are version2 themes........the ones i was trying to open are not Version2 themes i guess.....

hence nothing happening when i click on them

funny when u get a new FE you go through a painful period of discovery and trial and error.....

The reason it works this way is because it needs to make a copy of a current theme and the graphics are different between V1 and V2 themes. The graphics for V1 themes were designed to be static so they had to be changed to allow for more flexibility when designing a V2 theme.

You can convert V1 themes to V2 using the "Convert V1 theme to V2" pack available here
