I'm looking for an alternative to PPJoy eg. a bit of software that will turn a keyboard into a joystick

Either that or some way to get PPJoy working on Vista x64, I think it's the only thing I have left to sort out on my new system

When I install it I get a message saying "Error installing new device drivers. PPJoy will not be operational. You will need to manually install the device drivers." but there is nothing showing up in device manager and if I try running PPJoy from control panel I get an error saying "Cannot open the PPJoy device driver. Please install PPJoyBus.sys first"

I've also tried installing as administrator but I get the same results

Cheers

Just curious, but what software needs a joystick that can't use keyboard input? I originally was planning on using PPJoy to remap my GP-Wiz from 1 controller to 2, but found it too complicated and unnecessary.

Well I have used PPjoy when I hacked my NES game pad to DB25. That made it reconize the inputs as a gamepad device.

As far as I know there are no other apps that do the same thing :(

Virtua Tennis and Virtua Tennis 3 only support a keyboard for 1 of the 2 players, Sega obviously thought a keyboard was too small to be shared :)

I'm also looking at my Worms World Party batch file which is using a combination of PPJoy and Joystick 2 Mouse to get it working in my cab though I could live without it but I don't want to have to go without Virtua Tennis

My batch for Pro Evolution Soccer 6 also uses PPJoy but I don't think I ever got it working completely as I'd like

I thought XPAdder was the next greatest thing in joy mapping software. Haven't had a chance to fully check it out yet though.

Xpadder is a fantastic piece of kit but it goes the opposite way eg. it'll change a joystick button back into a keystroke
