Emumovies MAME SQ Videos Problem

Hi. I recently upgraded to the Emumovies MAME SQ previews (on dvd) from the CDBrown set and noticed on some of the games previews don't work - i just get the snap instead of the avi preview. I'm using mame 0.109. The games i've found so far are R-Type (US), R-Type 2, Mortal Kombat (rev l3.1), Saint Dragon, Dragon Breed, Rainbow Islands (new version). Am i doing something wrong here ? Maybe the way i copied the files over (horizontal first then vertical) wrong as some of the horizontal were overwritten by the vertical ? Or avi snap names not matching rom names (for 0.109) ? It's unlikely all these games don't work in the latest rev of mame.

Are you sure the movies exist for those games? If it displays a snap, I suspect that it didn't find a video snap with the same name as the rom name.

No bkenobi, i'm not sure. The fact that the rom/snaps are abbreviated makes checking this awkward. If no-one knows offhand i will check but i'm thinking the same as you - if no avi is present GX displays snap (still picture) instead. I was thinking that maybe some of the rom names for latest version of mame changed (although i don't know if this is the way things work). I'm hoping Circo can answer this. I really don't want to have change mame version/romset as i'm happy with mame 0.109.

Did you copy the avisnaps into a snap directory that already contained stationary snaps? If so, the emumovies would be added as avi, retaining the png files, and when you select a clone that is not in the emumovies set, the snap would be displayed instead.

Enter your directory and sort it 'by type' and look for png images, either move or delete them. If this was the problem, then all should be fine as emumovies will play the parent vid in place of a clone.
