I have been trying this for a fair while and have searched the forum only to find very little useful.

I'm simply wanting to configure Alcohol as an external application to mount an image.

My desktop shortcut, which works like a charm, reads as follows:

"C:\Program Files\Alcohol Soft\Alcohol 120\AxCmd.exe" E: /M:"C:\Documents and Settings\rac\Desktop\Dlair\DVCD\IMAGE.CCD"

How would I configure Gamex to run this?

Thank you, in advance, for your efforts. :)

In Emulators setup. Put that string in the laucnh before field.

I see its an ISO of dragonslair. So you may or may not be trying to use daphne.

Can you tell me how you run the game in windows.. Other than mouning the IMAGE.

Or is this a PC game and when the image mounts it has an autorun file that loads up a launcher giving you the option to play game.

we can get it going :)

It's an autorun CD image :). All the Daphne variations I tried were not authentic arcade, this is.

Well without starting a debate about emulation.

Id like to ask if once the cd is mounted theres a file on the CD that launches the game... Not the autorun launcher.

If so lets...For sake of argument pretend its DragonsLair.exe

A good setup may look like this, NOTE: This config USES *.EXE as the ROm filter.. This will show all executables in the rompath. The Rompath should be the directory of where the EXE is. also the Working path is there as well. For arguments sake Im assuming its in the root of the mounted E: drive. Launch before is configured to mount the disc before issuing the command. Also It checks to see if the file exists before launching.. Kinda a fail safe.. See the bottom of the config.

I still had trouble with that config. It just wouldn't mount...dunno why. But, if I mounted it first, it ran fine.

So, I use an alternate method, which works perfectly and that would be Daphne, in all her splendor :)

Thanks so much for taking the time to answer my questions. I'll be building a cabinet in the near future, so you may just hear from me again.

Thanks.
