Can GameEx find in directories within a root directory?

Pretty much does GameEx support roms in multiple directories deep and not only the root?

I simply put some roms in a directory within the root to no effect. Am I missing some special config or is it just not possible right now?

No, GameEx doesn't support roms in subdirectories. It has been requested in the past, but it has not been implemented as of yet. There are possible work arounds, but it depends on what emulator you are trying to use. Some systems already have guides to help make this work (Virtual Pinball comes to mind off the bat).

You can specify multiple directories for mame roms. I don't know if that helps or not....

Cero21 didn't give a lot of details in his query, so I can't be sure about what he really wants. However, it sounds to me like he has a set of roms where each game has multiple files and in order to keep things organized, he put each game in its own subdirectory. If it were MAME, he could simply add all the directories to the MAME.ini file and be good to go.

I have not done this, so I can't say exactly how to do it, but if you name each subdirectory exactly the same as the rom name you will be launching, there is a workaround that will work. Brian has helped out setting this up several times, so let us know if I am probing in the right direction.

Sorry. For not specifying but I am trying to organize my future pinball tables. There are many tables with custom sound library files that unfortunately seem to have to be named the same all the time. Therefore, I can't put all the tables in one directory since I lose all the custom sounds (because every consecutive table while copying will overwrite the last sound file).

I sorta asked this question in another thread about future pinball but this is really now a general question since sub directions would be useful in a lot of cases.
