How to list games by category?

How on earth can you list games by category? For example:

Platform

Shooter

Soccer

etc etc

I use mame, zsnes, and fusion

If you select the correct database during setup, you will be able to filter by category like you do in MAME. Also, if you are registered, you will have access to the new search feature Tom rolled out earlier this week so you can do keyword searches.

Yeah I've selected the correct databases. However, I still cannot find a way of filtering by category. On MAME I can see the categories to my left but dont know how to use them. On the other emu's, there's nothing.

Am I meant to do something in the config?

For emulators you need to specify a DB. You rom names need to be correct. Run your rom set through cowerings good tools.

Yeah, the categories will only show up if the roms match the list. If you are using a non-standard set, then it will require renaming to match. The roms need to match either no-intro or good(whatever).
