I hope that this isn't the wrong forum,

After searching the net for good quality game images I've made over 9,000 game images for 11 different game systems and they're available in two different resolutions.

They're free and I'm hosting them over at http://www.emulatedart.com

I don't know much about how gameex works, but the images for the systems other than mame don't use the goodcodes as part of the filename.(imo it's an unnecessary duplication of images)

Can gameex handle this?

The snap name needs to be the same as the rom name. So while good codes arent required Most of us run our roms through good tools for verification and renaming.. This way they match with our emu databases that have history and all that good stuff.

Is there anyway to have that optional with GameEx?

In the frontend that I use, I strip the codes from the file name to generate the title, then I group them by the the country code. The importer looks for images based on the filename and if it isn't found then it uses the title. This way only one image is needed for all of the versions of a particular game. Follow me on this? (the importer also parses the other goodcodes as well, but for a basic setup they really don't matter imo)

Obviously, this isn't an issue for the mame images, since the roms don't use goodcodes.

Are you trying to ask if it would use the same image for all the versions (different countries and etc.) of the same game? Then yes gameex can do this if you turn on the find best match feature.

Nice pictures, Reverson1. I needed some GBA pics to match my games. With all the different naming conventions, I was unable to fine a set to match my games until now. I did however notice that link for the lower resolution pics for #-b for the GBA isn't working. It would be great if you could get that fixed. Thanks!

It's fixed, sorry about that. For some reason if I used #-b.rar for the filename the host wouldn't find the file. I also have run into some strange issues where the host will try to match a similar named file instead of the correct one. I must have missed this file when I renamed them all earlier....

For example: snes-h.png would return nes-h.png ---strange.

Thanks for the heads up and I'm glad that you like them.

Are these better than the OfflineList stuff? I downloaded a crap load of that and couldn't get it working, but there were tons of images available. It sounds like these were all hand picked, so I imagine they are better. Correct?

They started out as a hand picked set for my setup and then I just kept going. However, while these were done in batches I did spend quite a bit of time on trying my best to make them look good. I went through each one, one by one and did my best with what I had. Whether they are better or not I honestly can't say for sure. I posted some examples of what they look like you make the call and let me know.

That's cool. I was just curious because the offlinelist stuff looks very hodge podge to me. I was about to start downloading when I realized it would take a bit of time to due based on the naming convention you used for the files. There's nothing wrong with it, but if you had done something like "nes 001.zip, nes 002.zip, ..." people could have used a bulk downloader to grab everything. Like I said, no biggie, but I didn't have the time yesterday to get into it.

Thanks for the effort and for sharing!
