OT: Get rid of windows yes/no question when I change resolution

I have setup my laptop for gaming and for surfing/other apps. When I hook it up to my J-Pac I use a hotkey combination to disable the built in LCD and output through the VGA to the J-Pac. This far everything is just dandy, but windows insists on popping the question "Keep this resolution? YES / NO" and that's really inconvenient. Is there any way of disabling this?

I have an onboard ATI Radeon Mobility 9700 running Omega Drivers, but I haven't found that option anywhere in the Omega options, so I'm guessing it's a "feature" in XP. It's very good if you don't know what you're doing, but it should be easy to deactivate, right?

A quick solution would be to write an AHK script that waits for that window to appear then clicks yes for you

I found this to suppress window popup errors. I don't know if it would block the "keep resolution" error or not....

I'll keep looking for awhile

Edit: on the other hand, I don't think this will help, Because I believe you have to click on "yes", or it will revert...I did see something on how to change resolution using the registry, would that make more sense?

Edit: I found this that shows how to change resolution without the GUI

That's it....I'm done! I hope it helps!

I'll have a look at PimpDaddyStu's suggestion. But I'm not really keen on the idea of having to install AutoHotKey just for this. Clicking it manually is almost as good.

Tempest: Thanks for your help, but as I'm going to switch resolutions using a hotkey I've chosen in the monitor preferences (this is not a dedicated gaming machine) this won't work.

bkenobi: Thanks, I know. Perhaps I will give it a go.
