Game Ex Create Snaps

Hello all,

Has any1 ever used Game Ex's create snaps for Mame? The warning came up and said it takes 20GB of HD space and not to touch the computer for 2 dayz. So I said to myself ok I'll regulate that duty to my spare quad core machine which is doing nothing atm. I started last night went to sleep and when I woke up and turned the monitor back on the computer had locked up. Any1 ever had this problem? And don't tell me it's bad RAM either cause it overclock's and is stable. Thanx

Honestly tho since I have pretty good internet Ive downloaded my mame support files...snaps video..cp art etc....

Oh yeah reduce your cpu multipliers and voltage... It probably is due to your overclocking.. I know thats not what you want to hear... but I bet it is.

Is it possibly related to a special 64-bit multi-core compile of MAME? I know a lot of people have used that feature, but I think you may be one of the few that's using that kind of MAME compile. Perhaps try with a standard build of MAME to see if that makes a difference? Just a thought...

Oh, and I chose to just download the MAME Extras set available at some places instead of creating my own snaps. That set includes a lot of things that would take tons of time to generate on my own.

I turned off the overclocking (since I wasn't playing NFL Blitz) and you are 100% correct I am running a 64 bit multi core mame compile. Since that machine is a dual boot I'll go in XP & download official Mame and try again. Thanks. I just wanted snaps for games like blitz that didn't have em'
