Can't seem to get mame to work with Game ex anymore don't know what i am doing wrong all the folders are correct, it finds the existing games loads halfway then returns to game ex

I want you to use gameex as your frontend also..

Please post your whole log also post your gameex.ini (it located in your install folder> config)

Also what version of mame are you using?... We had a user a while back trying to use an archaic build of mame that was causing issues.

Download this version of mame and make sure to change the EXE in the config to be correct

Also Id adjust these settings in your config

# Verify your MAME roms, and don't include if bad. This makes updating the

# game list slow.

VerifyRoms=False CHANGE TO TRUE

# Only list MAME games that you have on your hard disk rom directory.

OnlyRoms=True

Thank you for reply and help, this has fixed my problem was using wrong version of mame :( thank you :)

Great! FYI: It does work with mame32 and other un-official builds of mame... Im just assuming you have a really old version..

Like I said before this is the second time recently this has happened... Usually its hard to find older versions and you have to be looking for them on purpose... Perhaps theres a pack floating around the internet that peeps are grabbing :(
