Hi! Im new to the forums. Anyways i got gameEx up and running and all is well. I think its one of the coolest applications ive seen... but.......Im Trying 2 figure out 2 things.

1: How to make 1964 launch n64 games through gameEX. I read alot about this but nothing makes sense. I get the idea that it dosnt support command line options and you need some kind of loader but i dont understand where you get it from and how you actually set it up to run the games through gameEX with the settings they need to be ran with.

2:Is there anyway i can set up the video previews differently? For example... I want to click emulators and have whats there now a pic of and n64 or whatever console your on.. thats fine. than when you select that system and browse through your games... how do you make it play the same video no matter what your cursor is on? Like my video would be a bunch of n64 videos put together playing while your browsing your video games for n64 cool right? the reason i want to do this is just because theres not enough time to view a video for a game just while your scrolling over it... that way if your browsing down the list theres still sumthin neat to look at right, cool? cool... when i select the game is when i think it would be cool to show the video / box shot 4 that exact game. If anyone can help me with this that would be great.... thanx much!

happy gaming

Well, it's not possible to have the same video play like you are suggesting. If you wanted it to have the same video for every game, that would be possible, but not the other way. Now, there is supposed to be a V3 theme getting released at some point. I don't know what features will be added, but perhaps you could have a stationary video in the theme. If so, you could just not put any preview on the theme and have a single video play in the theme itself.

Anyway, if that's something you want, you should suggest it in the features request thread cause I doubt Tom has considered that (and even if he has, it doesn't hurt to have it suggested...).

Is 1964 better than pj64? If so I may look into it :)

hey brian. Yes for me 1964 is alot better. the reason is that you save your settings for each individual rom. That way you dont have to change plugins everytime you want to play a different game. Each game has a profile and in it it will save the plugins you use to run it. there may be a way to do this in project64 but so far... i havent found it. by the way if anyone knows how to do it with PJ64...please post it here. I like PJ64 and jabo's gfx plugins are the best ive seen for n64 and its a solid stable emulator that still gets tons of attention.
