So, i've got WinKawaks up and running on GameEx, running some Neo Geo games. But of course, the games have odd/shortened names (ex. 2020bb instead of 2020 Super Baseball). Of course, because of this the names show up in their shortened versions in GameEx.

What i'm wondering is if there's a way to have the name show up in the GameEx list as their actual title. I can't just simply change the file name, because when I do this, WinKawaks doesn't recognize the game.

You need a map File

Download this:

WinKawaks.rar

and unrar it into your "\GameEx\Map Files" Directory.

Now open the Advanced Configuration of GameEx, Emulator xx(Winkawaks), and add the map File on the 2nd page.

or open your GameEx.ini and add

MAPFile=[APP]\Map Files\Winkawaks.map

to your Winkawaks config

Does anyone else have issues with the Kawaks map file not working for "Favourites"?

I am using 9.13 and setup and imported WinKawaks config that came with 9.13... The Map file works fine when browsing the WinKawaks list but if I add a game to favourites I get the file name.

Ie: In the WinKawaks list it shows - Metal Slug X: Super Vehicle-001 (or 2020 Super Baseball as previous example)

If I add to Favourites and then goto favourites list and it shows - mslugx (2020bb as previous example)

All my other emulators seem to have mapped correctly to the favourites list

why bother using kawaks? MAME runs all the games kawaks runs and then some @ full speed

You are using GameEx 9.13? may i suggest that you update to 11.75? then get the new map file from HERE

I would use MAME as it will run all neogeo games perfectly.
