Gameex doesn´t start game

Hi!

I installed gameex on my mame cab. It has a very nice style and looks very easy to use.

My problem is, when I want to start a game and chose one, the program always goes back to the startmenu.

I have installed DirectX 9c, XP, an AMD 3200+ with geforce 6600.

Can anyone help me?

I need more info.

A mame game? A emulated game? Im sure its a command line issue.. In your startmenu >programs> gameex > Runlastgame.bat

Right click it and choose edit and post the contents here.

You are missing roms needed to play the game.

Also you are using an older version of mame because Im pretty sure they took out that it'll show you what roms you need to play the game.

Turn on Verify roms in gameex and only show existing roms. This way you dont pick a game you dont have.

Hi thanks for the answer. The path of the roms was wrong. The games start now. But my new problem is, that Gameex is very slow. Before I tested the program and it was very fast.

Are there options, which make GE slow?

There´s no way to put GE faster, I have changed the configuration how it is described in the thread. It always is slow. My hardware is nearly the best option for gameex. New drivers for all kind of it are already installed.

what exactly is slow about gammex? one of the things that jumps out right away is the mutiple rom paths for mame.. Generally you only need one path.

Id fix it then update the gamelist again.

I noticed your using "Primärer Anzeigetreiber" which translates to "Primary Driver". That seems a bit strange usually it will show the name of your video card (in your case a GeForce 6600) in the log. This might mean you haven't installed your video card drivers which would explain the poor performance. If not get them from here

Also note that if you have an onboard video card, even if you have a GeForce 6600 plugged into your PCIe or AGP slot you still have to set which video card to use in the BIOS. The best way to check your using the right video card is look on the back of your PC for two VGA outputs. It it has two, check your monitor is plugged into the one in the slot and not the motherboard.

Ok, I changed the gfx driver, I changed the rom directories, I reinstalled GE. Now it isn´t slow anymore, but I ´ve got the same problem with starting the games. The runlastgame log doesn´t works. It only shows: Error - unknown option: - Artwork

The games are all listed.

Okay, now it works with most games. Games like Golden A. and Mortal K. are working, but games like 194x do not work. If I run the file runitgame.bat, there´s the message: Error- unknown option: Artwork.

I would try going to advanced mame settings in the setup wizard, And getting rid of -artwork -artwork_directory artworkgameex in the "Mame Options"

Gameex is throwing that in.

If you look at the log here is the USER defined mame options... tho these are default also

I see what you are looking at....

And you knew about the bezels because of the -artwork option...

Hey Brian! That´s it! Now almost all games works. The "-artwork" I disabled before too. I thank you all very much. Now my Mame Cabinet works without keyboard an mouse (I hope so ;)). I will upload pictures, when I´m ready with everything.
