MAME breaks Joytokey now?

Sorry this isn't technically a GameEx question but.....

I have Joy2key set up so that when I press the right ananlog stick button (PS2 controller) it sends Esc, Alt, X. This works for every emulator i've used in the past, it's nice and simple and I don't need to manually configure every emulator to quit using the joypad.

So, I installed the new version of MAMEUI32 last night (backing up my old MAME32 install first!), it works great but pressing the joypad button to quit no longer works, the Escape key on the keyboard works as expected but Joy2key just doesn't seem to function with the new MAME. Has anyone else seen this?

This is a known issue with MAME builds 0.118 and after. If you don't want to deal with changing your setup somehow, you should consider going back to 0.117 or earlier.

Mame has changed its input system. Its documented somewhere.

For a Fix.. Press TAB goto inputsettings > Other controls > UI CANCEL and press Enter This will allow you to remap to your joystick right analog button.

Once pressed Mame will close and gameex will regain focus.
