Bit of a strange one this,. been spending a bit of time on it and gone through the F.A.Q. etc,. still same problem so here it is.

When I play all the games direct from Mame32 on my Arcade Cab with J-Pac I have no problems with the controls on games and can move with no problems and fire etc,.. When I try playing a mame32 rom through GameEx it sticks and seems to have a mind of its own. It doesn't happen with emulators or neo-geo games, just from mame32 when launched with Gameex. Shooters seem to be the main problem and I can play BombJack and Choplifter no problems and games affected seem to be ones like Flying Shark and DoDonPachi are the main culprits. However these games play fine when run straight from Mame32??

it has me puzzled at the moment as I have updated .net and editited the gameex.ini file as in this section

Q: My Remote or controller, sticks.

A: Get the latest version of the .net framework. It has also been reported that this may be due to your PC overheating, and applying the Sleep and NoWaitVsync settings resolved this. Look at the Sleep and NoWaitVsync settings in GameEx.ini. In addition, make sure the setting for using DirectInput for the keyboard is not set. If you still have problems, please post on the Yahoo group, and be sure to include all logs, configs, and what controller you are using.

Nothing seems to work,. can anyone give me any ideas? Also, I cant post the logs at the moment as I my cab has no network connection and I am working on it at the moment.

Thanks

Joe

If things in GameEx control correctly, then the FAQ won't help. It sounds like a problem with the way the game is being launched somehow. I would suggest launching an offending game from GameEx, immediately quitting, and then the "Run Last Game.bat" file from the GameEx start folder. If you still have a problem, then it's due to the way you are launching the game (which is probably different than the way it's launched from MAME32). If it doesn't freak out, then it may be related to resources or something. But, take it one step at a time and try the RunLastGame first.

Cheers

You can either go to the start menu under GameEx, or you can go to the GameEx directory and it should be at: "C:\Program Files\GameEx\DATA\runitgame.bat".

Just looking from your log file, you have "-tripplebuffer" turned on. Go to the setup wizard and remove this from your MAME command line. You should be golden after that.

That worked,. to be honest I thought it was off. Thanks.

One more thing if anyone know how to set all my mame games to vertical?

Well, if they are all horizontal now, and you want to rotate them because you have your monitor on its side, there is an option in MameUI32 under "options >default game options > display" to rotate. Or if your using Gameex, there is an option in the advanced configuration under display to rotate.

if you are talking about a few games that are incorrect, when running the game, press tab, go to video options > rotate view.
