PSX emulation questions

I'm using GameEX on my HTPC which is hooked up to my 51 inch Hitachi CRT widescreen television. Right now I'm trying to use either ePSXe or pSX for my PS1 needs. What I want is to keep the original PSX aspect ratio on my TV, no stretching or anything. Unfortunately, every plug-in I use for ePSXe stretches the image automatically except one, which makes the image really small on the screen. pSX has no option that I know of to keep the original aspect, plus the screen tearing is ridiculous, even with Vsync checked. Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to go while keeping the original aspect? Thanks
