Second post, sorry if this is too many too soon.

I have a problem with Project 64. When I initialize a Rom in GameEx, it switches to my desktop for a split second, and tries to open the rom and go fullscreen, but before it can it says "error: failed to open file". Now, i'm guessing this is a problem with GameEx, because I can open the files fine when I open them without GameEx.

Are the roms in .7z format? If so, I believe that Project64 on its own will open them, but the unregistered/free version of GameEx will not. I think I also had this problem before I registered, and my solution was to just unzip all the files.

This typically deals with how the commandline is setup.

Newer Beta versions

Command=Project64.exe "[ROMPath]\[RomFile]"

Public Release

Command=Project64.exe [ROMPath]\[RomFile]

Basically comes down to...to quote...or not to quote...that is the question. ;)

So depending which version of P64 I have, or which version of GameEx I have, I should use the quotes or not...?
