Every game broken...

First I want to thank this board for being a great help when it comes to troubleshooting GameEX - silently scoping around has helped me solve a great deal of issues already, but now I've got a problem...

ANYWHO - after successfully installing Zinc (people should receive trophies for successfully working through that disaster...shit, I already pencilled it into my resume'...) I was pleased to find that all the Zinc titles were called properly and ran great through the GameEX interface (with minor/major issues solved by surfing around this board, thanks again!)

However, I was pissed to discover every non-Zinc game is now broken and won't load through the interface anymore? I've re-built my list and so forth...has anyone else run into this problem? My guess is there's some sort of conflicting plug-in error...like, the standard games are trying to load based on a Zinc configuration that doesn't quite apply? I'm sure (I hope) the solution is simple...any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oh, few notes...for the most part the screen just blacks out and won't return to GameEX VIA esc. Force-close is required. Other games load...but are displayed in a ridiculously tiny (talking like 25PX x 25PX) box in the upper left-hand corner of the screen, bezel and all! (Again, force close required.) Now, I've tried removing Zinc, and I've disabled it manually VIA the advanced configuration and tried a few other things, but I'm at a complete loss! Sorry if this has been resolved before, I've dug around and haven't seen a solution yet...

hmm see if Xpadder is running and if so close it...then try everything but Zinc...that is if your using my setup guide and files....if your not...I don't have a clue...

Thanks for the tip, dude. I don't use XPadder - and I'm not familiar with your setup guide and files. I had everything up and running pretty flawlessly before everything took a shit. I have a feeling that my problem might be a rare-case scenario...and we all know what that means.

I'll start over if need be...until then, I'll keep digging around. Thanks again!

Are you using mame or mame32?

Load a game that is not working, exit gameex, go to the start menu, go to the gameex menu, select "run last game" see if that works properly.

If not then: right click on "run last game" and select edit. Add "pause" as the very last line, save it, then run that link. Maybe you will see what is not working correctly by doing this.

If that doesnt work or give you some info, I would recommend deleting all your mame files (not roms) and installing them again. Then make sure you have the correct arguments in the mame setup.

Update - it fixed itself...I love it and hate it when that happens.
