Just a quick question, I am running the registered version of Game EX, Mame32 and Windows XP. When I rotate the screen in game ex it works great, but the trackball in the Game EX menu screens still acts as though the screens are in their orignial orientation (If I move track ball up, it goes to the right, trackball down goes to the left and so forth). Is there any way to make the trackball act as it should when I rotate the screen? (It works fine in the individual games.)

Thanks.

Sounds like there may be a bug.

Thanks for reporting.

In the meantime if you use nvidia or ati, they both have a screen rotation feature that you can get a hotkey mapped to. It does the mouse as well.

Maybe the've improved, but last time I tried that it didnt work with GameEx due to DirectX conflicts. I was gutted as it would have meant I didnt have to do anything.

fark.. I didn't want to know that - was planning on using card utilities to rotate the screen for my cocktail cab!

(If I ever get around to buying a decent video card for my cab, I'll try it and post the results.)

Maybe the nvidia drivers are different (i used ati), but it seems tom is right. It just wont work.

I'm using old Catalyst drivers otherwise GameEx slows to a crawl, it seems ATI gave up on DirectDraw a long time ago :(

Latest ATI drivers work fine for me on various OS's and cards. Maybe your getting confused with the issue there used to be with 3d transitions?

Maybe the newer cards are okay but with my Radeon 9800 Pro newer drivers slow GameEx to a stuttering crawl. Even just scrolling through a list. It's not related to that issue with the 3d transitions because that arose when I was still using the older driver. I do have an Arcade VGA card but I got a PCIE version and my cab is AGP. I don't know why I did that really I guess I always thought I would eventually upgrade my cab's PC.

I don't think Direct Draw has to worry about speed issues in the future because even if the drivers aren't optimized for it the brute speed of them will mean GameEx will still perform well into the future.
