Okay I'm heading out for the weekend and not going to have anytime to finish these for now...so I'm offering them up here for refinement while I'm away...you'll of course get credit for the work you've done.

Basically all it amounts to is looking through each file and making sure only one copy of the game exists...ideally the higher revision. For games that are offered with two names...these can be found by searching for the "~" symbol...you'll need to strip one of the names...ideally leaving the correct name for the region that the map is for. Oh and you would only be striping on the right side of the pipe symbol "|".

Anyways I'll try to get as many systems up as I can before leaving.

These are based off the clrmamepro Dats provided over at the No-Into project....so they clearly won't work with GoodTools based sets.

I downloaded Game_Boy_File, and opened it with notepad, but it doesn't show the ~ symbol, Will Microsoft word work?

I am currently unemployed, so I have plenty of time, and this kind of tedious work is right up my alley. If you guys have something more important to do, leave these to me.If I don't get them done this weekend, I've got all week. I wouldn't mind freeing you up for more help in the future.

I was definately joking, you guys have been a great, and I would like do something to help out. This seems like a simple enough project for me, unless I totally don't understand what Nologic was asking for, Hence the questions in my previous post.

So let me know if I am understanding what he is looking for, and I will work on it.

I am using microsoft word, whwn I went to save the file,It warned me that I would lose formatting if I saved it as a text file. I'm almost sure that it is ok to save it as a text file, and then rename it to filename.map. Am I right?

I hope at this point that you guys aren't thinking that it would be faster to do it yourself. Its just that I need to know exactly what you want to do this right.

Thats fine...was actually looking for the whole line to be removed...but I can perform a quick regex that will remove them...sorry I wasn't clear on things was really in a hurry. The stripping was for when there was two names given to a single rom...which then you would only remove one of the names...but only on the right side because removing from the left would invalidate the rom name.

How about these: (I would guess it doesn't matter)

Taz-Mania (USA, Europe).zip|Taz-Mania

Doesn't matter but pure Europe would be slightly prefered...unless the euro usa version was a higher revision...then that one would be of higher value.

English over any other until our user base shifts drastically in europe...majority rules here...and others are welcome to make their own. So if someone wants to submit a map file targeted mainly for russians...thats fine...just needs to be marked as such...and submitted.

Those files may not have offered two names...again I was in a hurry...Word would have found them if it was there.

I took the liberty of eliminating one (don't ask me which), so hopefully there are no duplicates.
