I thought I posted this yesterday, but I don't see it - I've been having internet problems - so if it's a double post, I apologize.

I have Raine running fine by itself, but when I run it in Gameex, I can see the Raine GUI behind the game I'm playing: Arkanoid 2 revenge of DOH

My config is:

[Emulator_4]

Enabled=True

StartPageName=Raine

TitleText=Raine

StartPageLogo=Raine

RomFilter=

RomPath=C:\Emulators\raine\roms

SnapPath=C:\MAME32\video snap

BoxPath=C:\Emulation\Assets\Arcade\Raine\Boxes\

CartPath=C:\Emulation\Assets\Arcade\Raine\Cartridges\

ManualPath=C:\Emulation\Assets\Arcade\Raine\Manuals\

WorkingPath=C:\Emulators\raine

WaitBeforeKeys=

SendKeys=

ReplaceDash=False

ReplaceUnder=True

RemoveBrackets=True

ShowDesktop=True

Debug=False

MAPFile=[APP]\Map Files\[Arcade] Raine.map

AlsoLaunch=

Command=raine32.exe -n -game [ROM]

OLDatZip=

LaunchBefore=

LaunchAfter=

configFile=[Mapping Off] Exit (Process Close)

I know my artwork paths are wrong. But that shouldn't matter....

This should be the standard config from Gameex.

I would have thought that the -n in the command line would have taken care of it.

I did make a couple of changes in the Rain32_sdl config, but since it runs OK on its own, that shouldn't be an issue.....

Can you post a screenshot? (of how the emu is launching.) I can only assume its not full screen.

As far as your other post goes.. It was there yesterday but there was no contents and I removed it.

Brian,

Here's a screen shot, but the GUI doesn't show in it. I think I would have to agree that it is not running fullscreen, or it would show in the screenshot.

post-2333-1200589617_thumb.png

I have full screen selected in the GUI, I couldn't find anything on a command line option for fullscreen.

In the Rain32_sdl config, it shows:

[General]

run_count = 16

version = 65539

LimitSpeed = 1

frame_skip = 0

ShowFPS = 0

UseRdtsc = 1

UseLEDS = 1

save_game_screen_settings = 0

auto_save = 0

UseCompression = 1

[Display]

video_mode = 0

screen_x = 800

screen_y = 600

scanlines = 0

stretch = 2

video_fps = 15

rotate = 0

flip = 0

no_rotate = 0

no_flip = 0

auto_mode_change = 0

fix_aspect_ratio = 1

prefered_yuv_format = 0

fullscreen = 1

double_buffer = 1

Just a reminder, the display is correct outside of gameex....Thanks!

try -nogui in the command line option. Found it on the Raine emulator website. I don't have it set up where I am now or I would try for you but hey give it a try!

I changed a couple of things in my config to match Nologic's latest Raine config:

showdesktop=false

Command=raine32.exe -nogui -game [ROM]

This did not help.....Ideas?

Well I don't know about the GUI showing...but to have Raine take up as much of the screen as possible I think you need to force YUV...which to me looks like ass. Using normal Blitters which looks better to me...doesn't appear to fully scale to the available screen space. :(

Maybe ask the dev's to add more blitter options...ideally like those found in FBA :)

I'd ask for them...but I still owe them some bezel artwork. ;)

I won't even pretend to understand what you just said, I'm sure it is perfectly Nological!

Some one here in the forums (Bkenobi?) says that If you can make it run correctly outside of Gameex, then you can make it work inside of Gameex.

It does run correctly by itself, so if the theory is true, then it should be able to run with Gameex.

Usually when I need help, its because I'm doing something dumb. So the real question is can you think as dumb as I can? :rolleyes:

I just need a nudge in the right direction.....As Always I Appreciate The Help!

LOL...well what build of Raine are you using...and yeah ideally if things are working correctly outside of GX...it should look the same when using GX.

Raine32 1.0.3

I noticed that when I start a game in Raine that the Gui disappears (black screen) then the game pops up.

Why would it be any different in Gameex?

If the command line is -nogui, why would the gui show at all?

Mines working just fine so seeing where you went wrong. Give me a few.

I think 1.0.3 is a generic entry for the UI...download the most current build just to make sure.

Yeah with the -nogui switch there should be no GUI drawn at all...if the above doesn't solve the problem maybe...try defragging the HDD.

Yeah I don't see why it shouldn't be working. I have everything the same as you except for the resolution which i tried with your settings and still didn't see a GUI. The latest build is 0.50.6. I agree with Nologic about that being the GUI version.

I installed the latest version, and tried running runlastgame.bat (did you want me to post the GX log?), but I still have the same problem...

the command line from GX log is:

RUNNING: cmd.exe /c C: raine32.exe -nogui -game -arknoid2

I know you guts are trying hard, but you have to think REALLY dumb! :blink:

Edit: Maybe I'm misleading you, at a closer glance, its not the same GUI that I would see when running Raine.

I can see it for a second before the game starts, and it says "Applying graphic layouts" (white text, dark blue box) with some other text above it that is cut in half horizontally (white text black box outlined in white).

I hope this helps.

RUNNING: cmd.exe /c C: raine32.exe -nogui -game -arknoid2

should be

RUNNING: cmd.exe /c C: raine32.exe -nogui -game arknoid2

There is no dash appended to the game name...not sure how that got in there...

I got it!

I started playing a few more games (I like playing the games, but the biggest game of all, is making this all work) and I found that the horizontal games were rotated 90 degrees, while the vertical games were oriented properly. FYI: My montitor is horizontal

I had the GUI for Raine set up for no rotation. When I turned rotation on, all of the games (both horizontal and vertical) display correctly.

Now, I don't know if this is dumb or not, but it doesn't make any sense to me.....

Thanks for trying!

Glad you finally got it working! I know you've been going crazy over it! LOL. Great job! I didn't even think of that problem. Would have been nice to know your screen was horizontal. :P Have fun!
