Hi,

Can someone please give me detailed instructions to make GameEX start running on computer startup. I've seached the forum, and tried using the startup folder, but GameEX crashes with an error when it tries to start. I have WinXP home and the most recent version of GameEX.

Thanks!

I couldn't find the FAQ, so I just put up the Instant Sheller link. I guess I was looking in the tutorial section though...

How would I run the Winipac program to program the Ipac? Running the program is simple enough, but there is a box to click on to program the board. I was using a "mouse click recorder" (and I still could) however, If an shortcut gets moved on the desktop, all is lost. Suggestions?

How often will you be re-programing your IPAC? The IPAC uses an onboard rom that can be flashed to always have your settings.

Anyways you could always setup the WIN IPAC program in external programs. That way you can just launch it through gameex.

I mis-spoke, I have a mini-pac, but apparently that shouldn't matter.

I cut this from Ultimarc' web:

The Mini-PAC works identically to I-PAC2 board. All programming features identical, same number of inputs (28). Works in PS/2 or USB mode. For complete details check out the I-PAC pages.

Tiny board! Only 2 1/4 X 1 1/2 inches!

Fully programmable key code set. Stored even after power off unlike some other interfaces which lose all data when powered off.

I just double checked mine, shut down and started up my computer (cold start), started a game in mame32ui.121 (no front-end) and my control panel doesn't work. Then I exited mame, program the mini-pac using the winipac program and Voila! it works.

What the Heck!

What do you think?

Brian,

I went to Ultimarc and downloaded the latest version of Winipac.

Success!

I posted on this topic a couple of times here, and at the ultimarc forum, but nobody else caught on to why I would need to do what I was trying to do.

Thanks for paying attention!

Things are coming together!
