Using an old version of MAME

I'm trying to get Gameex work with an old romset I have (it's a complete set for 0.83) with MAME 0.83

I run the revalidate but it only ever picks up 90 games!?

I was thinking this set is for XBox version of MAME, did that need different ROM filenames from the PC version?

Could this be the problem?

Those should work fine...with the correct build of mame of course...more than likely you have certain filters being applied that are hiding games.

However that said...why not update your set to something more current?

I've got it to work but I had to update to the latest MAME version, obviously now a load of the ROMs don't verify but a lot more appear (nearly 3000) it wasn't filters just the old version of MAME.

Most burners want about **** for a full MAME romset on DVDs

I was holding off on that and seeing if I could get it to work with my old set first.

Search google and you will find a torrent to a uk based torrent tracker. Please Don't pay a burner until you've at least checked there first. Among other things, they have EmuMovies...
