is there a dreamcast renaming tool

and a ps1 renaming tool but all my roms for the ps1 are in cdz format

Tosec is the only ones I think that do those. I could be wrong. Just download their dats and scan your roms with either clrmamepro or romcenter. Not sure for ps1 roms in cdz format though. Pretty sure I saw for dreamcast.

Only dreamcast dat is for .GDI's.. Most DC rips, since we can't do them ourselves without some tools, are group releases with no dats. Sorry

Agreed. The TOSEC idea was great, but all the CD/DVD media has EDC and ECC removed.. Kinda pointless if ya ask me.. On the other hand, it is nice to be able to get the DC rips in full finally for NullDC.

Lets see...100+ USA GDI's dumped in three weeks...yet only 10 plus or minus get checked during that three weeks...it then takes them 6 months to check the rest...I think they have anyways...fuck lazy ass fucks.

So when your sitting there wishing you had original media to play in your fav DC emulator...or to correctly resample for your actual DC...be sure to tip your hat to tosec and say...hey thanks for fucking people over and being so god damn lazy that now I can't have that game right now...and frankly may never.

When the DC-Dump group started, they had about 30 games.. Then they tossed them out saying they were changing the ripping rules as well.. Also, TOSEC's roms are good.. But the ISO's are junk.. Got em all here.. All 900+ GB's on TOSEC and half the ISO's (3D0, Sega-CD, DC, AMIGA's, etc..) A lot of em were never scanned in CDMage for sector errors.. I had to buy my sega-cd collection in pieces from ebay and what I already had.. 162 games later, I am happy! But TOSEC, they have had the opportunity to do Sega-CD as a group, and not even half way there.. Even 3D0.. Actually, with TOSEC, NOTHING is complete.. I have about 80 more GDI's here I ripped with my broadband adapter and when I offered to send the .GDIs, they said I am not a member, and to just post the CRC/MD5 values of the ripped files... Nah.. And thats why I don't like them. Oh yeah, and half the isos don't work..

Actually it was higher than 30...Darc...did like 5, Az did like 8, I did like 25-30 two thirds of which double check with a secondary disc of mine, Moz did like 45, plus a few others...anyways nearly a 100 GDI's from BBrip half of which where confirmed good...then the great purge...because BBrip saved off a few KB of null data from gaps between data and audio tracks. At least thats the execuse...keep in mind that now if you want to create a cue file...you have to manually add back in the gapping when using the new GDI's.

Course the new GDI's have the error checking stream...tho thats not needed if one dump is compared to another and found to be valid....so yay...

Anyways right now the USA DC GDI's would be complete if it wasn't for tosec's treachery...and likely half of the JAP...Euro would be where it is today...as tosec is mainly Euro...and I have yet to learn of them screwing over another Euro.

The only real good of it is one step son has a DC & 170 games and the oldest has a DC & 235 games...and I still gave away 5 other DC's with a few handfuls of games each...and I still have some more DC's and games to use as door stops and roofing material.

I will never contrib like that ever again...and I highly suggest nobody else does...and most certainly not with tosec being involved.

Your using DC's as door stops? Blasphamy! I don't see why you would do that whenever I see a DC in my local paper it goes in no time at all! I think a DC based cab would be nice, although swapping over CD's would be a bit tricky.

Man, my heart!! Such pain and achery! The DC is my favorite console!! Ever!

However, having done the research I sympathize with Nologic. And TOSEC is crap when it comes to ISOs. Always have been. But I would nut myself if I had 250+ DC games at my disposal!!! I can't even imagine! I would have all the cover and disc scans, and all would be right in the world!

Having an actual DC makes me not even want to attempt Chankast... It's too complicated anyways. But a real DC? There is no replacement for that!!!!

I didn't get the complete collection for the USA...just real close...that and I was buying in bulk...so 10-15% of the games didn't have covers.

I really wouldn't mess with Chankast at this point...nullDC or Makron are both better than it at this point....nullDC even has network support.
