OfflineList working for anybody?

Hey all,

Just downloaded OfflineList to find it easy to download snaps. Has any one else got it to work in GameEx? In emulator setup I set snap folder to OfflineList emulator folder and Set the OfflineList Dat in the correct directory as well. But when I launch GameEx i get no snaps. Any luck with anyone else with this feature or is it not working yet? Working with No-Intro roms if that makes a difference.

Ive had mixed luck with it... It dls snaps and names them as 1a 1b 2a 2b etc..... It also dl them in sepreate folders eg 1-500 500-1000 etc

You need to be sure to tell gameex to use the offline list dat other wise NONE will show up... If you figure it out let me know..

I just have been making my ouwn through gameex... it takes a while tho

I d/l'ed the whole set for all the nintendo systems only to find out it didn't integrate well with my roms. I don't think mine have the standard goodmerge or no-intro names, so they don't line up well. I should just get a no-intro set and toss these, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. If you do get them working (which should be possible), a quick tutorial for what you did would be a benefit to the community!

Knew I could count on you guys to answer quickly! Glad to have a great community. Well i downloaded the no-intro offlinelist dats so my names match up perfectly with my new no-intro romsets. But i'm not getting them to view. So i'll tinker with it today when i get to my system. If i get them to work i will definately let you all know.

Well still no luck. Maybe the xml file in the no-intro offlinelist is different which is causing not to show any pics. I have all settings correctly that I'm aware of. The xml file is the only thing I can think of. So you guys got them partially to work with your roms? What romsets are you using and what offlinelist dat did you use with it to get it to work partially? That will give me something to go on so I can maybe check the xml and see if there's something I need to add in there to get these working for the community?

I downloaded offlinelist. I downloaded the Nes dat for offline list. I pointed to my rom directory under the rename options. I scanned my roms. I clicked on file and chose to rename my roms. I went to update and downloaded the snaps. I told gameex to use the offlinelist dat. I pointed gameex to the snap dir.

About 1/3 of snaps showed up.

I'm not too worried about it really since I grabbed Circo's intro movies. I don't turn on the game info screens for emulators other than MAME, so it's not really a problem. However, if I could get this to work, it would be pretty cool. I grabbed Circo's box and cart pics for NES and they looked pretty cool. If I could get offlinedat to work, I would use it, but I'm not interested in spending a bunch of time renaming my roms...

Ok guys here's the situation. I gave up on using offlinelist. LOL. Couldn't get it to work for me no matter what I tried. Unless it's because I have the beta version. I'll try with the regular one to see if it does anything and get back to you all. Found an easy way for screenshots according to No-Intro sets. I just downloaded their screen shot packs. The name format they are in is based off the crc of the game. So I downloaded the Image Renamer on their site and renamed the images based off my clrmame dat for No-Intro. Only takes a few minutes to rename all images for all sets and now have all screenshots.

Where did you get the dat and images (or is it a bad one to list)?

I don't think so. Just to be safe, google No-Intro and the first 2 sites are the ones. First site is for the official No-Intro dats and can also be found anywhere on the net. And the second site is the No-Intro Screen shot archive.

Found this old thread so maybe OfflineList just wasn't really implemented in GameEx.

OK. Finally came up with something. The No-Intro Screenshot Archive - Image Renamer renames the OfflineLists Images accordingly. So now we can download images with OfflineList and just rename them to match our roms. I will write a tutorial if interested to how to do all this. But basically you have to recreate a dat using RomCenter listing all available roms and point to all needed files in the Offline --> CRC option in Image Renamer. Then CRC --> RomCenter and it will rename your images to match your sets. Pain to do but once you figure it out it's easy. After I complete all No-Intro screenshots I will ask about hosting them. If have any questions or problems then feel free to contact me.

No-Intro Screen Shots

Screen Shot Packs for No-Intro RomSets. Or you could go the route of Downloading via OfflineList. From the link is faster.

I'll do a video tut tomorrow but here's the steps if you wanna give this a go.

1. Download Screen Shot Pack

2. Download No-intro Screenshot Archive - Image renamer from the Tools Section

3. Run Image renamer and rename from CRC --> Clrmame dat or RomCenter dat (depending on your dat)

4. Will ask for folder to dat and image folder. Then will rename accordingly. Will make folder Named_Titles and Named_Snaps and will match No-Intro Romsets.

Or the OfflineList way. Which uses the same Renaming software but is more of a pain to do. Also seems like EMUMOVIES is also offering images based off no-intro and goodsets. But not complete.
