Project 64,Xpadder,Gameex

Ok this is kinda irratating... Im setting up Pj64 through gameex... This works fine..

Im setting up xpadder for my gamepad... Works great..

I configure pj64 to use the keys I configured to use with xpadder.... Works like a charm..

I launch Pj 64 outside gameex..(Xpadder is running) Works great.....

I launch pj64 from gameex (xpadder is running) No keys work....

While n64 is running I minimize it and open notepad... My mapping still exists...

I close pj64...I close gameex... I run the runlastgame.bat... It works fine...

I dont have any advanced config.. This seems to be the only emu to do this....

Sure I can config pj64 to just use my gamepad but I want to configure all my emus to use the same keys..

Has anyone else had this happen?

EDIT: I DISABLED VISTA UAC... NOW IT WORKS FINE... DAMN VISTA

1) Format HDD

2) Install WinXP

3) ...

Well I really should because I got the newest version of pj64 1.7.55 and it will not work on vista...

Oh no problem Brian, just install Virtual PC, and then install winxp in Virtual PC, than install pj64 1.7.55 in that, then write an auto hotkey script to run it all, no problem. Be sure to make auto hotkey save state in both PJ 64 and the windows xp session so you don't see those annoying windows every time you run pj 64. Or of course you can run instant sheller in the virtual win xp session. Or you could...... oh f**k it just,

1) Format HDD

2) Install WinXP

3) ...

I think it would be worth finding out how to run a command line tool from GameEx without having to turn off UAC. There are several things you could try.

- You can set a program to "Run as Administrator" by right clicking on it, Properties->Advanced->check Run as Administrator. I'm not sure if this only effects a shortcut to the program or not, but would be interesting to try this first as it seems to be the easiest way to do it.

- Perhaps you can change the "Integrity Level" of the GameEx folder and/or where XPAdder is located. There is a program called chml that might help with that.

- Another way could be to try to the Runas commandline app that will run something under a different login / trustlevel.

I am curious about this myself as I will be getting Vista some time in the future.

I am curious about this myself as I will be getting Vista some time in the future.

I did run it as administrator... Didn't help.. Im really not sure what the issue was.

However the integerty level seems very interesting... Ill check into that and let you know... I really want to keep vista and UAC enabled.. But I just run into quirks here and there... Not to mention its a resource hog...

Another question someone might be able to answer.... How do you turn on the message that tell you "this program has stopped working, Check for a solution or close program."

Build 55 never worked in vista for me I had to use a slightly older build
