Dead Or Alive 2 Racing Game ????

I updated with version 8.96 and I configured the new db, also happens to you this ?

For example, if I go to any section, example "dreamcast"

I see the games with regular attributes "Mortal Kombat Gold" = Fighting, "Crazy Taxi" = Racing, etc..

But if I choose a filter by category happens that the database is not regular.

"Mortal Kombat Gold" becomes Shooter, Dead Or Alive 2 becomes Racing, etc.

Its just a DB error.... No big deal... Id fix in the DB and reupload the fixed DB.

I've seen that in the past with certain games (lots of them by the way) being listed as shooters. I never found out why, so I just ignored it and I think it corrected itself somehow. Anyway, this is a new database, so perhaps (as Brian said) it's just a simple database error that can be fixed.

Its just a DB error.... No big deal... Id fix in the DB and reupload the fixed DB.

This is not a database error, this happened to a couple of people before, if you open the mds you'll see that Dead Or Alive 2 is marked as fighting, I cant remember exactly how to fix it though, it involves deleting a couple of files that GameEx generates.

if you take a read through the topic LB11 created a month or so ago, looking for opinions on the new databases I think you'll find the files you need to delete

That's right, now I remember. You have to delete two files in the GameEx directory. I want to say one is the gamelist.txt file, but I can't remember ATM. Like Stu said, do a search and see if you can't find it. If so, please post here so that this thread isn't left open...

Hi, the files to delete are the ones with the .dbcache extension in the GameEx data folder.

Its supposed to detect changes in dbases but obviously its not working

I deleted all the files with the .dbcache extension but the problem persists for some games :S

What are the games that persist? It very possibly is an error in the MDB.

The easiest way to see if the database is correct is to go to the actual game info screen where it gives the description. At the top of that screen it shows the category that is actually in the database.

Mortal Kombat Gold in mdb is "Fighting" .

When i use the filtre "category" it become "Shooter"
