Hi guys,

First off I'd like to thank you all for the many times I have lurked here and gotten answers.

I just got the arcade/emulation bug and recently build my first arcade cabinet. Used X-Arcade controller for now (http://picasaweb.google.com/dreamerawoken/Arcade).

I am trying to use the latest version of mame32 (actually mame ++), and have noticed that the last bunch of releases no longer accept the numpad arrow keys as directional buttons. The X-Arcade, and I believe the HotRod, both use these keys rather than the arrow keys for Player 1 Directional.

I have Controller configs for the X-Arcade, but they dont function for control of these keys.

Does anyone know of any workarounds, other than use an older version (which is what I am currently doing). I'd really like to use the newer versions as I have a complete romset for these.

Thanks much,

Anthony

You have to reconfigure your controllers if you upgrade from 0.116 to 0.117+. There was some new stuff added that changed how inputs are received (I think it has to do with allowing multiple keyboards). Anyway, as a result you just have to redo your input files.

Hey Anthony, that is a beautifully done cabinet. Where did you get the artwork?

Thanks

Yes I agree, nice bezel and marquee.

Thanks much,

Sorry for the late reply.

Got mame to work correctly - I had never tried the oncreen menu to configure keys, and was relying on controller files from their site.

The marquee was custom print, it's a scan from a Marvel Universe poster, but cropped to the right proportions.

The bezel is simply comic book panel scans, photoshoped, with larger characters cutouts.

I hope to take the x-arcade apart and make a control panel more fitting with the theme.

Thanks all,

Anthony
