ROM management opinion

Reading alot about ROM management and luckily my MAMEs are mostly OK, but my SNES are a huge mess. I have sometimes 10 versions all named same, then I open it and it's french or spanish, etc.

I downloaded Goodsnes but it's commandline, which is fine but I can't make it do what i want. I would love some sort of GUI based program that would let me filter non-english, and delete or hide games that meet a certain criteria. Is there an easy way to do this?

Is there a predefined filter or cgf/ini I can download that will filter my existing roms

When you have a GOODSET you have tons of the same rom.. including bad dumps / over dumps etc...

What your looking for is a NO-INTRO SET.

However there are a few threads about this on the forum... Including renaming utilities

never heard of no-intro before today.

looking at the site they have a DAT file, if I put that in MAME directory will it filter these files?

I want to rename/sort the roms...

treat me like an idiot. I'm wanting some GUI that sorts like named ROMS and let's me say only US or only english and let's me creat some sort of dat for filter file so that only certain ones are seen, like GameEx does for MAME stuff.

there are several that do what you want

I use GoodGui which does a pretty good job.

You need a rom management tool like ClrMamePro, load the No-Intro .dat file into it and let it build you a fresh set from your current GoodSet

clrmamepro is great for what you want. If you cant figure it out try romcenter. Does most of the same stuff and is MUCH easier to figure out.

Like they said, No-Intro is the way top go
