that´s so, I´ve started Gameex today, it did an automatic upgrade, and all previous configuration is gone. Countless hours of working polising every detail and now i´ve nothing. I paid 14 pounds to suport, but now I´m thinking to eliminate gameex from my machine.

I'm sorry you feel that way, but there are things to try to address this.

are you using a stock install of xp?

or is it something nlite-based like tinyxp?

( I am having this same problem w/ videos as well as some other people.... )

what about ffdshow, xvid/divx/klite/cccp/etc?

Ok gameex creates a backup of all you configs before any update.

Look in the install dir. And rename the gameexbackup ini to the gamex ini..

They might be .cfg files not sure. but they are there

My XP is a "normal" version, not lite. Yesterday, previous the automatic update, all was working fine, i had recode the emumovie videos of some consoles from DIVX to xdiv, and it worked absolutly fine, all problems begin now. Nothing in my windows or codecs or anything more is diferent from yesterday to today. The backup copy of gameex doesn´t exist (i don´t see at least). Thank you.

What version of GameEx were you previously using? Nothing has changed in recent versions that would affect this.

Either way its a codec issue. If your having to convert divx to xvid, something was screwy anyway, regardless.

Previous version was 8.88 (i think), i get my reg key in Octubre 20, and i got the last version from web. Thanks.

GameEx 8.88 is here:

Can you try and see if the problem still persists?

I think your'll have the same issue, but we can try at least. I do mess up once in a while ;)

Hi Tom, i´ve tried v8.88 and problem with videos persist, so, you´re right, it´s a codec issue. In the other hand, after "downgrade" the configuration of mame (redone after upgrade) was fully respected, so i can´t understand what happened... anyway i´ll try to fix all problems and i´ll post here how it became ready again. Thankyou very much for your attention. Greetings.

Ok. i´ve uninstalled all video codecs and video codecs packs from the PC, reboot, and install a clean allinone video pack (elisoft v.14) and videos are working fine again. curiously in config i selected no audio in video snap, but...audio runs anyway!! :o
