Updating. Will i lose my favorites?

Will i lose my favorites under the mame section if I update my version of gameex? I really don't want to have to go through 4000 games and pick my favs again. I'll find out what version # i have, where do i find that? Also, maybe once i find it someone can tell me what advantages if any there are to updating from my version to the current one.

You can find it in your gameex log.

If you can wait until the next version you shouldnt loose your favorites whatever version your upgrading from. As it is now, old versions thats possible.

You can see what version you have either by looking at the log file (its in the start menu program group) or clicking the question mark button on the toolbar.

I thought GameEx had some type if tool in it to prevent loss of favorites? Am I wrong?

So do I just copy my log and then paste it back in the updated folder when i have downloaded the latest version?

No you dont need to do any of that....

You can refrence you log.. find the version number and post here so we can see if its old enough where you might lose them.

Yeah it does, but for performance reasons a while back, i set it not to update them for really old versions. I've just changed that, as it probably wernt one of my best ideas.

If I can get my real work done today, then new version this weekend.

I wish more people would use the chat to, maybe we should set up a schedule or something to all get together there.
