Hello,

when I choose a Pinball game it starts up good. The controls work and I can play a game (fullscreen, using GameEx 4.68 with the latest vpauto file (see another thread)).

However, when I want to go back to GameEx (back button on the remote), my PC get stuck! I still hear the pinball table music, and my desktop shows up (see attachment).

I then have to manually close the vpauto, the vp table and vp (all three are in the taskbar). When I then click on the GameEx logo in the taskbar, GameEx comes back (after some stutter).

What is happening?

You need to turn off MAP Keys. You wont be able to use the Back Button on the MCE Remote.

Here's a way to get your MCE back button working with Vpinmame. Note that I'm still tweaking and beta testing this. So far it is working smoothly for me.

Unzip the attached KeyMonitor program, then set up the config this way. Map keys off, remove VPauto from AlsoLaunch. Insert my KeyMonitor program before vpinball.exe.

My config looks like:

MapKeys=False

AlsoLaunch=

Command=..\KeyMonitor.exe ..\vpinball.exe -play -"[ROMFILE]"

LaunchBefore=

LaunchAfter=

My program also lets you play the table with a Xbox or PS2 controller if attached (D-pad left is the left flipper, button 1 is the right flipper, button 0 pulls the pluger).

Hey DJ

This KeyMonitor thing is great! Only problem: The left flipper is not working for me. Is there a way of changing the button assignments with your app?

Thanks for your help!

I wrote KeyMonitor entirely for personal use but it seems I end up posting it on here regularly. On my PS2 controller the d-pad is mapped as a POV hat. From what I understand different PS2 adapters do different things. Just tell me what button numbers you want to use (flipper left, right, coin in, start) and I'll recompile a customized version for you. Eventually I intend to have config files, but I may end up re-writing the whole thing before I get to that.

The analog stick controls the arrows. You can use it for baby pacman and the plunger on Scapino's Cirqus Voltaire

Yep, my PS2 maps the d-pad to specific buttons. You kick so much ass for recompiling for me!

This is my ideal setup:

Insert Quarter - Button 7

Start Game - Button 12

Flipper Left - Button 5

Flipper Right - Button 6

Nudge Table Left - Button 16

Nudge Table Right - Button 14

Nudge Table Forward - Button 13

Up/Down/Left/Right (BabyPac, etc.) - X/Y Axis (analog stick)

Plunger - Button 3

Volume Up - Button 4

Volume Down - Button 2

Thanks so much!
