Ok I installed cccp and it still had no effect......let me give ya some info I should have included in the beginning of the post.....I downloaded the mame startup lightning video which worked full screen and still does matter of fact. I used windows movie maker to strip the sound out of that video and added a music sound track of my own and saved that as a new avi file. once played on startup now it plays in a minimized window instead of the original full screen, I could switch back to the original lightning video and it works fine but switching back to the edited one causes the size issue.

Ok I got the video to work in full screen now....in windows media player the video runs flawlessly.....in game ex it studders and is choppy when it loads. Are there any settings in game ex that needs to be adjusted?

Try re-encoding the video so its is smaller in size.

Sorry but the original works fine.. Ive encoded some of my own game clips for previews and sometimes they do what you described. Try re-encoding using diffrent codecs to get the smaller size. less frames etc.

there are performance options but only to sepp up navigation in gameex...like alpha blending and 16bit color. etc
