Gameex and clones are better?

When you select "No clones unless better" How does gameex determine if its better? Does it only show the clones of nonworking games or did Tom determine whats better himself?

greater is probably better as that means less buggy

There is info compiled into MAME which tells it if a game is working or not. So, if a clone is working better than the original, that would be better to use. There is a way to output all of that info to a text file from standard MAME if you want to look at it, but I don't know the command off the top of my head.
