Hello that made one month that I test to make function Zinc under Gamex but I do not arrive there.

Can you please give me the procedure, as well as the files (cfg, zip,â?¦ detailed please) to make function this emulator under gameex.

My file Roms Zinc is named â??Roms ZN12â? and I it be placed in the file Roms de Mame. When I do one updated of the plays under mame, there is nothing more than the roms mame (valid for the roms model 2)!

Does zinc owe it apparetre in the menu like model 2 or mame?

;)

Although you probably already know, you have to get zinc configured outside of GameEx and working prior to incorporating it into the front end. There are a number of tools that you can use to get it working, but basically you will have to go through each game manually and setup the controls, video, etc BEFORE you tell GameEx that you want to use zinc. If you keep the roms in the MAME directory, you will want to make sure you tell zinc where the roms are located. I don't have the info in front of me, but this has been covered in GREAT detail earlier this year.

Brian, do you know if the zinc writeup was included in the tutorials? As I recall, you were the one helping get it going for one of the newer members early this year.

I dont think it is.. :(

I believe the person I was helping earlyer was trying to set it up as an emulator... Not using the advanced mame settings.

When you configure gameex to use Zinc it olny uses it to lauch the gameex that use the playstaition hardware.

So in your mame list if you choose sf2 ex or tekken it will load zinc instead of mame. All you have to do is tell gameex where zinc is and have it enabled and re-update your game list.. Gameex will do the rest....

There is no need for additional rom folders or anything. As zinc uses mame compatable roms.

If you truly wish to have it sperate and set it up as an emulator. I'd use bat files to call the games and setup bat files as the rom filter.

Zinc usage is Zinc.exe 5 (Where 5 is the rom name) Zinc uses a numbering system for its supported game list.

Zinc only supports a handfull of games. If you want the bats I use just ask and I will provide them.

I decided to Zip up my Zinc folder as I have the emu and needed plugins and all my batch files.. It is MISSING the ROMS folder for various reasons.

Sorry, the language difference is not helping here, but I'll give a crack at answering anyway.

The basic steps for getting zinc going are:

1) extract the zinc executable files to a directory (e.g., c:\emu\zinc)

2) extract the zinc support files to the zinc directory

3) launch zinc and configure the general options (where the roms are located, etc.) and each rom one at a time (controls, video settings, etc). This may require using a separate plugin if you are using joysticks (winterblast)

4) Test each rom you want to play through the zinc launcher

5) When all desired roms are working with zinc on it's own, turn on zinc in GameEx

These are general steps and can either be cleared up here or in one of the many zinc tutorials either here or elsewhere on the web. Hope this points you in the right direction at least.
