Mame 118u6 is released and I'am too anxious to wait for 119.

This build is suppoesd to fix timing and sound issues when you run monitors a lower refresh rates.. Using the -refreshspeed switch. I'am hoping this works because Id like to run my killerinstinct roms on newer builds again.

Also per popular request Im adding support for hiscore.dat (This gets installed in the same directory as mame) Also you need to create a folder called "HI" in the mame directory.

As the title says it removes all messages. This only works on Official MAME 118 binary.. not mame32 etc.....

You can get the official binary from mamedev.org

http://mamedev.org/releases/mame0118b.exe

As mame does not release binarys for U realese I have patched the source with all available DIFF files.. (You do not need to)

Just unzip the patch contents and place in the mame directory. Run the applypatch.bat and your good to go.

NOTE:The patch does actually remap some keys, namely:

KEYCODE_TAB - will bring up the menu but also pause the game.

KEYCODE_1 - UI Select (instead of enter)

Okay I'll have to repost what I was asking before.... (sorry if this is more to the point than my last post)

- Did you try 7Zip compression?

- Where can people get the official binary for 118 u5? I didn't think official mame released u binaries. You need to be more clear that people have to apply the patch to the official binary and maybe a link to where you can download it.

- Great work! People will love this!! :)

Maybe put something like this on the bottom of your post

Oh yeah, having followed the other post, I knew it was a patch and didn't think twice about it. But newcomers just seeing this post, could get confused. Maybe also a "Patch" in the title would help.

Yeah I thought as much. A patch has very little redundancy, and the self extraction code would add the extra size to it.

I edited your post a bit to make the disclaimer a bit clearer. Executable is the word they use not binary, so I changed that.

Lol! My personal spell checking service is $50 US an hour :P That includes correct words like 'color' to 'colour' hehe

Actually I realised why the patch is so large, your patching the 118 binary with a 118 u6 compiled and modified binary. I'm suprised it's not bigger than it already is!

I just downloaded HoffMAME (Sexual Chocolate Edition) and I must say it's pretty darn great! My friends will love this and not even know. Plus having the patch applied makes me look like one of them 733t people I keep hearing about! Heh! :)

It will be really soon if we keep this up :)

Google is a web crawler. If I google gameex patch it takes me to threads as recent as the vivanonno loader i made..

LOL, and aluminum is pronounced a-loo-mi-num, not a-loo-min-IUM! :P I think its time to throw another shrimp on the barbie!! ;)
