Just come across GameEx and its a lovelly piece of software so I'm retrofitting it to my Mame cabinet - I'll share some pics with these forums soon, its a rather novell design!

My only problem is I have used the key L for my player 3 right command and can't seem to reprogram my rather old IPAC. What would be much easier is if I could just disable the L for layout funtion of gameex so the game isn't interrupted every time player 3 tries to movie right.

Is this possible..?

First off welcome to this great community, and to the best frontend out there :)

You can solve your problem by going to the setup wizard/custom/advanced mame settings

You will see a "ingame cp view" you can change your key here. Not sure if you can disable it tho. Just map to a key you don't use

Hope this helps

Thanks a lot, thats worked lovelly - and thanks for the warm welcome.

Originally I ran my machine from DOS, I tried to keep Windows as clear as possible, but sine "an incident" I've not managed to get sound from a DOS setup. Modern hardware with severely dated software is not a good mix. I've given up and gone with a Windows XP (partially motivated byt the awesome GameEx) but now I need to disguise Windows as much as possible if I'm gonna be happy!
