I dont know why, but recently when I press standby either via remote, or the in menu shutdown, gameex will minimize. It never did that before.

I saw another post with a similar problem and he solved it by disabling some nvidia program I think. I dont use nvidia and I have no excess stuff running. :(

Anyone have a suggestion?

LB11 are you using Win XP, i have a MCE remote and dont seem to have any problems can you hibernate the pc with the remote with no problems?

if not are you using the drivers that come with service pack 2?

Posted

I use XP MCE edition with all updates. Standard remote drivers.

I don't think its related to the remote. It must be something I'm doing if I'm one of the only ones with the problem, because it happens on the laptop I built recently as well, which has no remote at all.

It goes into standby or hibernate fine, but before it does that it will minimize gameex then standby.

When I resume I have to pull out the mouse and click on the task bar tab to reopen it.

I also noticed that if I choose standby from the gameex menu, it will move up to exit gameex right before it minimizes and standby. I dont know if that has anything to do with anything, but I noticed it while fooling around with it.

I did try uninstalling gameex deleting the folder, and then reinstalling an older early 7.x version gamex to see if something changed recently that would cause it. But it happened then too.

Well, if anyone else is having this problem the new gameex 8.88 seems to have fixed it on both computers.

are you using the registered version?

is your display settings in fullscreen or window mode?

the free version gameex 8.88 still minimized after hibernating on fullscreen mode..

if registered version can fixed this i registered right away..

hope someone can help us on this.. thanks in advance..

I do still have the problem, I am registered. I use fullscreen. It happens weather I use remote or inmenu standby. The laptop does not have the problem though. As far as I know.

Registering will not fix your issue.

You must have SOME program running in the backround stealing focus.

What tray apps do you have? Id close them and turn off Antivirus and see if you can replicate the issue

Posted

The problem is definitely another program stealing focus as Brian said. The problem is that sometimes it's hard to tell where it is coming from. I'd suggest disabling everything that is running at start up and then re enabling just the things you need one at a time to see what's causing it.
