Good question...but no clue as to the answer. :(

in device manager; when you click on your controllers properties; is there an option to let this device wake the computer in the power options tab?

It really is a great idea!

Well I you use xpadder to map joypad input to kb input then sure..

Personally I use one xpadder config for everything . Even if the emu supports joypad. I just set it to use the key strokes I have mapping for.

This way I have one config all the time. My xpadder keys are the same as my IPAC again so I can use one config.. :)

I suppose since it is emulating keystrokes it would also bring back from screensaver too.

Not from screensaver. From standby.

Ill test it out anyways, but I don't think it will work. Who knows.

If not, maybe the xpadder dev could add support somehow.

You cannot wake your PC with a keystroke from stand by?

I thought only hibernation mode required you to actually press the power button.

Oh well

I honestly don't remember, I know S1 standby can wake from any keystroke. I don't know if S3 can. I know my current setup wont start from key or mouse presses. Thats not to say it cant be configured to though.

I think the biggest problem is that xpadder needs to see the joystick presses before it will make key presses. I think the joystick is completely disabled in S3 standby.

Hibernation is when your ram is Copied to the hard drive and all the power can be turned off. and when you turn the pc back on using the power button it restores the pc to were it was before you hibernatred it like Brian said you will have tp press the pc power button to restore.

standby mode just turns of most components in your pc this is the one you will need to use if you want to wake you pc Via a wakeup methord. You will have to leave the pc powered up

i wouldnt think xpadder could be used to wake pc up via a game controller i think the one thats most likely is what midget35 said

I thought I read somewhere that there was a way to use USB to wake...but perhaps that was just USB keyboards. If that option was available, I would expect it to be in the BIOS, so you probably would have seen it and tried it already. Anyway, If that's not the case, then I don't think it would work short of having a USB or PS/2 keyboard encoder. I don't think there is any way to use XPadder to map the inputs from the USB device to a keyboard to turn it on since the computer is effectively turned off and not running any programs (so XPadder can't translate the button presses).
