Attract mode not working?

Hello, GameEx newbie here. I had downloaded a bunch of frontends that had been recommended in a newsgroup thread, and GameEx really stood out to me as the best one of the bunch. I've been using it more or less exclusvely since then.

Just a quick question... in the first version I downloaded (3.37? The one just prior to the current one), the Attract Mode screensaver worked great. In 3.38, it doesn't seem to work at all. After the correct amount of time, the screen blanks and flickers as if MAME is being launched, then it bails out and returns to the menu screen. Is this a known bug, or do I have something mis-configured?

<Feature request> A key combination that would allow you to jump in and start playing the game currently running in Attract Mode would be awesome. </Feature request>

Hi,

It's not a bug I am aware of, and it works fine for me.

GameEx now has a last MAME game item on the start page, this allows you to access the last game that was launched either by you or by attract mode. That should address your feature request.

In addition, after attract mode fails, try to access and play this last game. If it works it may be a bug with attract mode, if not maybe something to do with your setup. Another way to test this is to select the Run Last Game shortcut from the GameEx Start menu Programs Group.

Tom,

I see your other posts about the bug in .93 and your workaround for it. My bad, I totally forgot that I updated MAME and GameEx at the same time. I'm a QA Engineer by trade, the developers would shoot me if I made the same mistake at work.

Anyhow, good find and thanks for the workaround.
