Hello,

I just downloaded GameEx yesterday onto my arcade build I am working on (should finish tomorrow with all of the hardware :) )

Sorry if this is a noob question, but can you use a mouse within GameEx? I have a touchscreen in my arcade cabinet and would like to be able to just click on a word instead of having to navigate with the joystick. Assuming I figure this out and get a couple other things smoothed out, I will most likely be registering since this program is a beauty.

Just make sure your touchscreen software turns screen touches into mouse actions. If it does, you are golden!

Hmm.. my touchscreen is set to emulate mouse actions and it doesn't work. Even plugging in a usb mouse doesn't control gameex... Any suggestions?

Check your advanced config and make sure you have it enabled :)

I just double checked the input options and Disable Mouse is turned off (so that the mouse is set to work). Just in case I tried it turned on, and turned off again, all with the same results. I can see the cursor moving around, but it does not allow me to move the selection or click on anything.... Though I found that it does let me use the moues on the Weather section, but not the main screen, the MAME screen, or the jukebox screen.

Hmm.. I guess my only option for that is to either live without the mouse or to try and re-install it.. I just don't really feel like going through the setup of the options as well as adding my touchscreen flash games to it again...

In the meantime, though, I did get my last paycheck in so I went ahead and registered to support this great program :)

You can alway do a work around.. Assing a hot key to a mouse click.. so every time you left mouse click it simulates [enter].

Enter by default will select menus..

worth a shot :)

Well I can move the mouse around and see the cursor, but it does not move what is highlighted. This coming week I might try to re-install if I have time since it would be much easier to teach people to navigate with a touch screen.

I was hoping when I updated the gameex when I registered it that it would correct it, but it did not.

Nope the free version is pretty much the same..what you see is what you get..

Have you tried changing themes? This has helped the user that couldnt use the mouse with the tron theme.

I will try changing themes now, though I hope I can use the current theme (GameEx Animated).

Nope, that didn't help...

goto the gameex dir >config?gameex.cfg

look for this line

DisableMouse=False

make sure thats correct

DisableMouse=False was in there.... Still odd... I imagine it shouldn't be the touchscreen since my regular mouse doesn't work in it either.

I installed GameEx onto my laptop and the mouse works on there. I will try to uninstall and reinstall it on my cabinet later this week, and hopefully that will fix it. Otherwise I guess it won't be possible unless one if you feel like digging through my registry or config files to find the issue.
