I currently have over twenty emulators running perfectly but need help with a few more...

1. Neopop

NeoPop.exe -fullscreen "[ROMPath]\[RomFile]" ..... I get a "fullscreen rom not found" error so I removed -fullscreen and left neopop in a full screen startup mode but the esc key toggles fullscreen/ windowed mode. Any pointers on somehow disabling it so it always stays in fullscreen PLUS lets me use the esc key to return to Gameex

2 Project Tempest

pt.exe "[RomFile]" AND pt.exe [RomFile] (same story on each) ....... screen goes black for a couple seconds and returns to Gameex. I would like to get either Project Tempest or Virtual Jaguar working because I have it running in MESS but it is poor at best

3. Virtual Jaguar

vj.exe [ROMPath]\[RomFile] -reset ...... Virtual Jag starts up but gives an error of "(game name) could not be loaded"

4. Freedo

freedo.exe "[ROMPath]\[RomFile]" ...... Emulator starts but remains on the freedo splash screen

5. Visual Pinball

..\VPinball -XPFix5.exe -play -"[ROMFILE]" ALSO LAUNCH [apppath]\vpauto.exe ......... black screen, then returns to Gameex

SOME EMULATOR ISSUES IF SOMEONE WOULD LIKE TO HELP..

1. Saturn (SSF)

Anyone know how to get this thing to play a game? I can only get it to the CD player page. I've tried to run ISO's, Bin Cues and cd's that I burned with Disk Juggler but it still always goes to that page..

2. Amstrad / Spectrum (Brief History)

Can any of you Brits give a brief description of these computers to a clueless Yank? I've been reading retro gamer lately and it is full of games from these two machines and I'd like to see what all the fuss is about. I downloaded some roms for both and tried to get them to work in MESS but there is a ton of different Amstrad and Spectrum pcs in the emulator. Was there one model for each that would have been more dominate so I can attempt to find the bios and place it in the correctly named folders?

Thanks to all

Tom, love the software, worth every penny.

1.(Neopop) Put the "[ROMPath]\[RomFile]" before the fullscreen switch.

2.pt.exe "[RomFile]" AND pt.exe [RomFile] try pt "[Rompath]/[romfile]" (When you use the quotes it handles spaces in the file names better.. eg THIS IS MY ROM.zip versus THISISMYROM.zip (or al least that what i noticed.) you are also not sending the rom location eg...rompath... Are they in the same folder as the pt.exe if not id send that too. eg "[Rompath]/[romfile]"

4. try adding the " " in the romfile rom path

5. Visual Pinball..Go here http://www.gameex.net/Support/Tutorials/ta...79/Default.aspx

There is a guide I put together on how to get it going.

I will check into the other later... I know nologic has done some work with freedo maybe he can chime in and help.

Thanks Brian,

I setup it as per the tutorial and it still goes right back into Gameex (I'll try it on my home system later to see if it works later)

I also user Nologics 3do tutorial and its not working either..

Thanks for the responses...

For FreeDo are you using physical disc's or images?

Most instructions on how to use Emu's is based off of binary images...so if you are using physical disc's adjustments will need to be made.

They are all images.. bins and nrg's

Now are you using Daemon Tools to mount the images or another application?

Did you make sure that GameEx didn't strip one or more of the required quotes from the Launch Before entry?

Alright..... Neo Geo Pocket finally works although I have to hit the escape key once before it is visable. I assume it starts in a window first and it not viewable being that show desktop is set to no.

Set show desktop to true (for trouble shooting) I thought you were using a -fullscreen switch... BTW: you can set keys to send in the gameex config so you dont have to press ESC.

Brian still using -fullscreen but after "[ROMPath]\[RomFile]" so I guess it doesn't "stick" (Still get the cannot find rom -fullscreen if it is in front.

I like having all emulators using esc because I plan on building a machine and would like to have all emuators running the same.

Try this

neopop.exe "[rompath]/[romfile]" -y fullscreen

Specify when to use YUV overlay, can be one of never, fullscreen, magnified, or always. Default is magnified. Using YUV overlay allows hardware accelerated scaling on most newer graphics cards.

Taken from

NeoPop-SDL is the SDL port of NeoPop, a portable NeoGeo Pocket emulator. It supports blackwhite and color games, game state saving, screenshots (BMP and PNG), sound and music, double- and triple-size scaling (both in software and hardware), full-screen-mode, joysticks and keyboard input, and the ability to read from ZIP files.

All options can be specified in the config file, neopoprc(5), or on the command line. Command-line options override config file settings.

The following options are supported:

-C mode

Describes the role NeoPop-SDL should play with regard to network play:

none

Disable network play.

server

Have client connect to us (start first).

client

Connect to server.

Defaults to none.

-c

Start in colour mode (default: automatic). See also -g.

-e

Emulate an English language NeoGeo Pocket (default). See also -j.

-f count

Set frameskip to count. The default frameskip is 1. Frameskip 2 means that every second frame is shown, thus increasing emulation speed since showing the graphics on screen is skipped half of the time. However, animation will be less smooth.

-g

Start in greyscale mode (default: automatic). See also -c.

-h

Show a short help message explaining the options.

-j

Emulate a Japanese language NeoGeo Pocket. Some ROMs will show Japanese text instead of English if this option is chosen. See also -e.

-l state

Load start emulator state from file state. See the description for the F4 key below.

-M

Do not use smoothed magnification modes. See also -m.

-m

Use smoothed magnification modes (default). In double- and triple-size mode, the graphics will look less blocky, but this option has quite a performance impact.

-P port

Which TCP port to use for network play. Defaults to 7846.

-R host

Hostname of the server for network play.

-S

Silent mode. Sounds and music are not played. See also -s.

-s

Sounds and music are played (default). See also -S.

-V

Display the version number.

-y mode

Specify when to use YUV overlay, can be one of never, fullscreen, magnified, or always. Default is magnified. Using YUV overlay allows hardware accelerated scaling on most newer graphics cards.

filename should obviously be a NeoGeo Pocket ROM file, unzipped or zipped.
