Hello Everyone!

Just a little intro to say hello to you all and I hope everyone is well.

I have recently ventured into the territory of owning a Jamma Cabinet which I got off ebay, Look Here for a bit of a preview of the cabinet.

I think GameEx is excellent so far, so I will be registering it very soon :P .

Anyway, a few questions related to GameEx and configuring various things.

1) How do set all the Mame Roms to the highest volume by default?

2) I have a cab with a Rotateable Monitor, if I register GameEx will it Automatically rotate vertical games?

3) Is there a Hot-Key I can use to rotate the Display "On the Fly"?

4) Anyone know much about Mars Coin Mechs? I have a MS111 and Mar Electronic Board but they dont seem to have power.

5) Is there anyway of repairing Mame Roms?

6) Some roms that work fine in Mame32, Load in GameEx then Immediately return me back to the menu! Why??

Thank you all for taking the time to read, and I look forward to your replies. :P:D

1.) I use mame32 plus and it has a feature to auto adjust volume..Usually this info is stored in the NVRAM file. though gamees like mortalkombat will still be quieter than the rest.

2.)Gameex rotates for vertical display monitors. and will tell mame to rotate the display. It wont automatically filp the roms...Sorry

3.)Some video card do this as part of the driver...Id check there first... If not there is a couple programs that come to mind...Pivot pro and powerstrip.

If you have an intel chipset

Intel 82852/82855 Hot Keys

video chipset (Intel 82852/82855), and found that there are some hotkeys defined for various graphics actions:

Ctrl+Alt+Up: rotate screen 180 degrees

Ctrl+Alt+Left: rotate screen left 90 degrees

Ctrl+Alt+Down: rotate screen 0 degrees

Ctrl+Alt+Right: rotate screen right 90 degrees

With these keystrokes, you can rotate the screen any of the four directions, not just toggle between the single portrait and landscape orientations provided by the hardware button. Screen rotation, color settings, extended desktop settings can also be set in the property pages.

4.)See post below.

5.)Yes use CLRMAMEPRO

6.)What are your mame commamd line options?

I fount this for the coin mech

http://www.mektekinternational.com/pcpromanual.pdf

And this for power

http://www.markscotford.com/pccr1con.html

Pc power supplys have a +12 volt rail and most use that for power.

The PcCredit Board needs a stable +12 Volt Smoothed DC Supply (does not need -12V) capable of supplying a peak current of 3 Amps and a stand-by current of 1 Amp. The 12V power supply is wired into the PcCredit Board via two Screw Terminals. Connect the positive to one of the + terminal and the negative to one of its - terminal. The boards may alternatively be powered by the Power Supply in the PC, assuming it has enough spare capacity for the 3Amps required. Please ensure that the power supply connection to PcCredit has a 3A Fuse in line with the 12V supply.

Right,. It is all working now!

1) How do set all the Mame Roms to the highest volume by default?

never mind, I have set the roms up that I play to do that.

2) I have a cab with a Rotateable Monitor, if I register GameEx will it Automatically rotate vertical games?

As above? But what is the key to rotate the display of GameEx frontend?

3) Is there a Hot-Key I can use to rotate the Display "On the Fly"?

As Above

4) Anyone know much about Mars Coin Mechs? I have a MS111 and Mar Electronic Board but they dont seem to have power.

Thanks to the articles above it is all working with 10 pences!

5) Is there anyway of repairing Mame Roms?

I used CLRMamePro and a handy tutorial on the forum and all the games work!

6) Some roms that work fine in Mame32, Load in GameEx then Immediately return me back to the menu! Why??

After using CLRMamePro I only have this issue with Dance Mat Games.

Thanks for your help Brian!
