The site looks good Tom. I'm looking forward to exploring it. May I make a suggestion? Can you put a link back to the GameEx homepage on the forum? I know I can get there through the Spesoft link but I think it would be easier for newbies and such. Everything else looks great.

Looks like it's time for CHQ to retire...

After all, I don't have anything there that you don't have here at the GameEx new & improved home page (which looks fabulous btw!). Crazy that I was working on the same principal using phpbb as a portal system but it kept getting more and more over my head. It really does look professional. Great job!

PS: Sad to see my M series of MAME logos didn't make it up...

Nothing is static on the new website so those logos can be added later. I don't think you should retire your website either, see what happens first.

Don't worry... I am currently working on a full emulators section for the site that will have updates, instructions, tweaks, artwork, and such. I was more or less just commenting that my portal idea (that I spent a good three months on) was a flop and you mastered it in a couple weeks (I know how much detail and tableid and DB work you had to do and I'm impressed to say the least! Your a master of your trade my man!!).

ConfigHQ is my school web building project so it's not going anywhere anytime soon, I got a grade riding on it!

I'd love to help maintain your site and I'll certainly do anything I can to make it the best interactive site out there, although I don't know if I'd really be that much help. It would be nice to learn a thing or three from you guys...

My only suggestion so far: When opening the Themes site from your page, perhaps have it open a new window (_blank) so users won't end up leaving the portal system to look at Night's site.

I really like the idea of this "portal website".

The design is quite simple, but simple is easy, and easy is good

But what I would like to see is some kind of community input into this site.

For example the Recommended Games section would be great for something like this. People could write a description, post soeme screenshots, post a review, give ratings for a game, post new games and stuff like that. So this section would be really up to date.

And the downloads could have descriptions or screenshots. (like the logo packs, you download them and don't know how they look like).

But in fact, the portal site is REALLY a big step into the right direction! (especially the wiki is a really good idea)
