I really need some help and have tried tips from the faq and checked the forums. The rom paths are set correctly but when I try to load them the screen goes black and then goes back to gameex. I tried the no bezels setting, and changed the command line option about skipping the disclaimer to false. Neither solution worked. I couldn't find anything in the forums about this problem. I chose mame32 as the arcade emulator during setup. I have directx 9.0c on my system. The gameex version on the computer is 8.54. I have already registerd my program and would really like to use this in a cabinet I plan on purchasing soon. I really like the interface you have created but I really need some help in getting this thing working. I would appreciate any help given.

Thanks,

MC

So Mame32 runs fine out side of GameEx? Because its important that Mame knows where every thing is, and can function fine on its own...this applies to all emulators.

Id also check the RUNLASTGAME.bat outside of of gameex and see if it works.

This way you might see the error message. You can find it amongesed all the other things in the startmenu,All program files, gameex tree

Also in the advaned config disable the ability to exit gameex with ESC..

Then your executable is corrupted...Mame32 should open and display a GUI...with standard Mame at the very least you should see a Dos box open then close quickly.

Ok, how do I replace it...I downloaded this version of mame32 through the gameex setup program. Is there a way to manually replace the exe, or the whole program?

Well you can grab MamePlus @ http://www5.emu-zone.org/host/mameplus/ its a mildly enhanced version of Mame32. You can of course elect to grab the original @ http://www.mame.net/

Just extract them into whatever location GameEx installed Mame for you at...then make the proper changes in "Advanced Configuration"

Thanks for the help nologic...replaced the corrupted exe with mameplus and it works like a charm!
