13th July, 2007 - GameEx 8.40

Fix to menu transitions

This fix makes things look 10 times smoother when selecting menu items

I always thought it was because of slowdown in GameEx but not all.

Improvements to frameskipping. Will now skip up to 20 frames, which is how I discovered the above

13th July, 2007 - GameEx 8.39

Frees up more memory before launching

Could fix a few performance and memory problems when launching games on lower spec systems

13th July, 2007 - GameEx 8.37

Added recent new settings to setup wizard

New setting to tell GameEx not to reduce CPU usage, if you want full FPS as often as possible

I just tried out 8.43. I'm still getting choppy animations. However, the ambient track does stop when the jukebox is played. However, this then becomes the 'ambient' track when exiting games or viewing pictures. (I initially thought the idea of the ambient track was to be during menu roaming and picture watching, being silent during other media/games, and then returning when one returns to the former. That is what is intuitive to me, and it's also my preference.)

Can you go into a bit more detail about choppy, and is this when GameEx is windowed or full screen. Can you also post your pc specs.

Cheers.

Mm, sorry. I mean there are video stutters during menu transitions. This is full screen. I hadn't thought to try windowed. This is on a late model 2.8 P4, 1gig of ram, 512mb ATI (PCIe arcade vga, actually), running XP Pro. If I load 8.23 there is no stuttering.

No problem, could you see if its any better in the latest version? Could you also post your log so I can see a few things?

Thanks.
