only 1 cps3 rom showing in gameex

Hi. For some reason only 1 of my cps3 roms is showing up in gameex. I can play

them in mame, and theyre not showing up as clones. However in gameex i can

only see sfiii third strike. No warzard or jojo. I have the newest 0.116u4 and all

my roms are up to date.. Have they changed since 0.116? does anyone else

have this issue?

Are these considered playable? I thought SFIII was the only one that was marked as both playable and not imperfect emulation. GameEx has an option to only show playable games, so if you want to see them listed, you would need to disable that feature.

I just tried what you suggested. the update found around 600 extra games.

None of those however were cps3 roms. Only the existing sfiii third strike.

Its weird cos they all come up as working in mame. But in gameex they dont show.

I could try using elsemi's emulator and setting it up seperately. I just wanted it

to open in mame like my cps2 roms. It seemed odd that they werent showing

up. I might just wait until mame 0.117 and see if they work then.

That's what I'm doing, but I don't know why they don't show up in GameEx. I've never looked for them specifically, but they should be there if they aren't in on of the filtered groups. My machine isn't on right now, but next time I turn it on (tonight probably), I'll take a look and see if I have them.

The CPS3 games aren't showing up on my GameEx, too. Only SF3: 3rd Strike. But I'm doing the same as you... I'm just going to wait for 0.117. I think that will fix it. SF3 should hold me over 'til then.

While we're on the subject of games that aren't displaying, I could never get the original Pac-Man to show up in GameEx without showing all of the clones. I usually use the display setting "No Clones Unless Better" because I don't like all of the clutter. With this setting Pac Man Plus shows up but not the original. I'm guessing there's probably not, but is there a way to show it without showing ALL of the clones?

That's because Pac-Man is a clone! The original was called Puck-Man, but apparently there was a concern that certain deviants in English speaking countries might "modify" the P into an F...

Anyway, you can add Pac-Man to the don't filter list and it should show up. I thought it was supposed to be there by defualt, but I can't remember ever seeing Pac-Man last time I looked for it either.

I checked my installation and it turns out that pacman is not in there by default. So, when I add it, it should show up after an update.

I added pacman to my "Don't Filter" roms list and updated and... it's there now! I always wondered why Pac-Man wasn't showing up... Thanks again!

I added pacman to my dont filter roms like suggested. While i was at it iadded the sfii roms. They now show up under mame

in gameex and also under the cps section. Problem solved!! Thanks for the suggestion

Isn't the cps3.c driver set as not working/imperfect in MAME since it relies on hacking the driver? Thought I read that somewhere.

i dont know.. In mame32, i set it to show only available. When the rom is selected

it says working at the bottom of the gui. so it looks from that as though it is working.

I think you are thinking of Pong. Pacman is a clone of Puckman. Pong is a completely electronic system without any code. All logic is done via circuitry (capacitors, transistors, resistors, etc.), so it can't be called a rom.
