Daphne configuration tutorial

Brian. Thanks so much for helping me with Daphne . I literally printed out what you said and highlighted everything. I feel like i could teach a class on it now hah.. I wasn't fully aware that the command line was being created as i filled in blanks with the different games. The problem with Dragon's Lair 2 was that when i updated my framefile location it wasn't showing me my changes when the command line appeared before the game launch. Once I realized exactly what I was supposed to do, I finally noticed and was able to make the corrections manually. Daphne is finally under control!

I glad you got it going... :)

Thanks for the responce I was courious how it worked out.

once again I'm having yet another Daphne problem just when I thought i had it all figured out...

Currently with your help Brian, I have 3 games up and running successfully. they are

Dragon's Lair

Game Options: -framefile "M:\DAPHNE\framefile.txt" -fullscreen -useoverlaysb 1 -bank 0 11011000 -bank 1 01110011

Cobra Command:

Game Options: -framefile "M:\DAPHNE\Cobra Command\Cobra Command.txt" -fullscreen -bank

0 00000000 -bank 1 00001100

Dragon's Lair 2

Game Options: -framefile "M:\DAPHNE\Dragon's Lair 2 - Time Warp\_untested_Dragon's Lair 2 - Time Warp.txt"

Using what you have taught me I tried to add the game "Esh's Aurunmilla"

Rom: esh

Game Options: -framefile "M:\DAPHNE\Esh's Aurunmilla\Esh's Aurunmilla.txt" -fullscreen -cheat -nohwaccel -sound_buffer 2048

Now once I added that game everything went haywire again.. I am using its own folder to get its framefile like you told me.. Now I'm going to kind of answer my own question here and say the problem is that Dragon's lair is grabbing its framefile from the general folder for framefiles on my M: Drive. Now everytime I relocate the Dragon's Lair framefile file to the Dragon's Lair specific folder, the game will not run even when i tell it to grab the file from there. I feel as though there is something to these framefiles that I have yet to understand. I really want to figure this Daphne thing out and get my entire library available for it. Another thing that has been catching my attention is that often times when i make changes in the daphne loader for specific games. the program doesnt seem to remember them and launches some default command line. The Dragon's Liar game option line i posted is a perfect example

I actually have several framefiles for dragon's lair

they read as follows

"dl_framefile.txt" and when opened it reads

D:\Emulators\Daphne\Dlair

151 lair24.m2v

another is..."dragon's lair.txt and when opened it reads

.\

151 lair.m2v

once again daphne has kicked my !#$

use this one

another is..."dragon's lair.txt and when opened it reads

.\

151 lair.m2v

This tells daphne the name of the video is lair.mv2 and is located in the same dir as the dir as the framefile.

.\ = Path

151 = Starting frame (The first frame of the actual game)

Lair.m2v the name of the video file

-----

It could also be

c:\daphne\mpeg\dl\

151 lair.m2v

Then this would mean the vidoe files are located in the c:\daphne\mpeg\dl\ folder....
