Neogeo empty gamelist

Hi, first congratulation for this awsome frontend, it works well in my Taito Egret!

Since i use the last mame

(0.116u2 or u3), the neogeo game page is empty... it's weird since i can see and play neogeo games in the all MAME games page... (neogeo bios is also in my roms folder) .thx

I haven't tried this yet to verify that this is not just you, but is it possible that the NeoGeo driver changed name or reports differently in the new version? I don't know what Tom is using to determine if it's a NeoGeo or not, but I imagine it's based on the driver (neogeo.c).

Also, it's possible that the MAME dev team is playing around with things. The u releases are developmental and NOT stable. As a result, you can try them, but will definitely experience glitches from time to time.

One option to fix this may be to open up the advanced config app. Go under Advanced MAME settings. Turn off verify roms and then turn on only exists. Then update the list. This way GameEx wont tell MAME.exe to verify the roms, that's whats happening. MAME thinks there bad. This is an old problem. I think its because the NeoGeo bios got updated or something like that.

I had already "verify roms" OFF and "only exists" ON ...that's weird since it used to work with older "stable" mame versions. But i really want to keep the 0.116u3 for recently emulated cps3 games

Sorry, that's all i got I thought it was the old bios issue. Its probably the MAME version then. I guess patience for the next mame build is the solution here, or info if the NeoGeo stuff has changed.

If you want to play the CPS3 roms, you could use an older version of MAME with the Nebula emulator. You would have to set up an emulator in GameEx for Nebula, but then you would be able to play SFIII and still play the other NeoGeo roms. Or, just wait until they get it going...

I think this is the same problem I had a while back.

Can't exactially remember, but I think it was something to do with my folder structure.

Keep the mame.exe and all other directories including the roms folder under the same directory.

eg,

mame

/roms

mame.exe

Just try it and see if it works.

I had my mame.exe on a different HDD from my roms etc and had nothing under neo-geo but did for the others
